   Chi Ma Wan
    Site Description

The Chi Ma Wan Survey route is located at southeast Lantau Island on the Chi Ma Wan Peninsula. The location is rather remote and less popular for local hikers. The route starts from Chi Ma Wan Reservoir and runs along the hillside. Vegetation type at the area is mainly plantation woodland by the reservoir and short shrub at the hill side slope. The survey route is under direct exposure to sunlight - only a small fragment of the route is under canopy cover.

    Site Protection

The site is within Lantau South Country Park.

    Survey method

The survey methodology was devised with reference to Carey et al. 2001. The site was surveyed by at least two group members in the morning (between 7am and 11am) using 1.5-hours line transects. Bird species and relative abundance were recorded by sighting and/or hearing during the survey. Other information such as weather and temperature, were also recorded during the survey.
